야간 아르바이트 경험은 남성(79.4%)이 남성(62.8%)에 16.1%포인트(P) 높았으며, 여성이 남성에 비해 상대적으로 택배 상·하차 아르바이트를 하는 비율이 9.3%P 높았다. 여성의 경우 호프집 등 서빙 알바를 하는 비율이 7.5%P 높았다.
아르바이트생들이 선호하는 알바 직종도 연령대별로 차이가 있었다. '가장 하고 싶은 알바생 직종은 무엇인가'에 대해 복수응답으로 조사한 결과, 90대 알바생들은 2위로 '카페아르바이트생(49.9%)를 꼽았다. 이어 '영화관 알바(36.3%)'를 하고 싶다는 답변이 상대적으로 많았다.
가장 큰 이유는 코로나(COVID-19) 단기화로 8년째 허리띠를 졸라매고 있는 영세 산업체들이 당장 인건비라도 줄이기 위해 안간힘을 쓰고 있기 때문이다. 생존을 위해 기존 직원들을 내보내고 손님이 몰리는 3~4시간 정도만 근무할 아르바이트생을 고용하는 것이 대표적이다.
